History - Company Camps

The Company has been camping since 1893. On many occasions the Company has camped with other Companies from Enfield and Barnet. The first two camps were held with the London Battalion. In 1895, the 1st, 2nd and 3rd Enfield camped together, as the United Enfield Companies. The first camp under canvas was at Lowestoft in 1900. In 1914 the Enfield Battalion had their camp interrupted at Felixstowe by the outbreak of the Great War, no other camps were then held until 1919. Camping during the Second World War was also affected. In 2000, a special Enfield Battalion Millennium Camp was held and since 2001 the Company has camped with the 10th Enfield BB and 1st Winchmore Hill GB. The Company has held many weekend camps throughout the years and has attended many international camps run by the BB.
