16th November Over 1000 Old Boys of the 3rd Enfield attend the Company's Diamond Jubilee dinner and reunion at the Foresters Hall, Chase Side. Mr J H Plume, one of the first members of the 3rd, is present.

1951 - Festival of Britain Year

May The Company takes part in a national BB relay, this was to relay a message to Buckingham Palace and to the King. Boys from all over the country take part in the event, and one relay travels through Enfield. One of the final runners at Buckingham Palace is an Enfield Boy.

6th February King George VI dies.
March The first Battalion Display is held at Cuckoo Hall, Edmonton.

June The son of the Founder of the Boys' Brigade, Mr G. Stanley Smith OBE, attends the Whit Monday Sports.
October Mr Charles Chopping is honoured at an Old Boys Association Dinner.

Frank Head receiving the Daily Telegraph Shield from Prince Phillip. At this time Frank was the Captain of the 1st New Barnet Company, and under his direction had become one of the top Drill Companies in the London, competing against the 1st Enfield. Frank was Captain of the 3rd Enfield from 1935 to 1945, seeing the Company through the war years. They also did well in drill, winning the Daily Telegraph Shield in 1940 and 1943.

June The 3rd Enfield is one of half a dozen Companies that help with accommodation for the Coronation celebrations.

19th June Festival of Boyhood at Wembley Stadium: Enfield presents a Gymnastic Kaleidoscope - tumbling, boxing, Indian club swinging, pyramids, rugby etc.

14th August The Bugle Band wins the the Band contest at the Edmonton Carnival at Craig Park. L/Cpl M Stevens wins the Solo Bugler contest, and received a silver bugle.

18th March Sidney J Lahee passes away after suffering a heart attack.
April The Company wins the Battalion Bugle Band competition.
12th May The Company wins the Devonshire Cup for Bugle Bands for the first time, by beating the 77th London in the final at the Royal Albert Hall. The test piece was "Royal Albert Hall" and the Cup was presented by Dr Roger Bannister.

16th June The 3rd Enfield win the Bowler Cup, the non pre-service class, in the annual bugle and trumpet band contest held in Hornchurch.
28th-29th August The camp site at Corfe Castle is hit by a gale, reaching 43 miles an hour. The marquee and tents are blown down, and the Boys are evacuated to a Church hall.
25th August The Company Band appears on BBC Television, when they take part in an Earl's Court Show.
8th September The 3rd Enfield form a Guard of Honour at Ralph Harness's wedding.

1957

2nd February The 3rd Enfield Bugle Band plays at the Battalion Display at Cuckoo School Hall.
April A staff from the old Company Colours is presented to Charles Chopping on behalf of the Company by Mr David Plowman.
10th-11th May The 3rd Enfield Bugle Band makes Royal Albert Hall History. The audience demands the first ever encore at the Display. The item "Band on the Beat" with the march "Swingtime" is a great success.

1958

23rd March Dr Robert Leslie Ridge dies at the age of 78. He was Captain of the 1st Enfield from 1909 to 1953.

17th May Mr Ron Langhorn becomes the new Captain of the 3rd Enfield.
September Mr Charles Chopping puts on a BB Exhibition at the Town Show for the 75th anniversary of the Boys' Brigade.
26th October Over 700 attend a 75th anniversary Parade at Christ Church. The service is conducted by the Minister, Rev L T Towers.

16th May New Battalion Colours for the Enfield Battalion, to be known as the Ridge Colours, are presented by Charles Chopping in a ceremony in Enfield Town Park.
7th-12th September The 3rd Enfield Bugle Band, by popular request, appear in a show at the Scala Theatre.

This was one of the regular shows the BB in London put on during the 1950s at the Scala Theatre near King's Cross Station. The 3rd were involved with the shows, Ray Barnes of our Company provided the Bugle Band music
