Remembrance Sunday Parade (12th November 2006)

The traditional Remembrance Sunday Parade in Enfield took place on Sunday 12th November, and as it was an afternoon Parade we were hoping there would be a good turnout, something which can be a problem for Church Parades in the morning!

As is tradition the Battalion, which was represented by most of the Companies, formed up in the car park of Christ Church. The Battalion Band was followed by the rest of the Battalion behind on the short march to Chase Side Primary School to meet up with the rest of the Parade. After a short wait the Parade gradually moved towards Enfield War Memorial, and following tradition it was quite a cold day to be parading!

When we arrived, the bugle team (led by Martyn and made up of Mark, Ady, Rob S and myself from the 3rd, and Jack and Simon from the 1st) moved over to the usual position next to the hedge to play Last Post and Reveille. After the service the team rejoined with the rest of the Band to march through Enfield Town, past the Mayor and eventually back round to Christ Church. There is always a gap between bands leaving from the Memorial, and we were the next band after the Scouts - either we were marching too quickly or they were too slow because we managed to catch up with them!

On returning back to Christ Church there were hot drinks for everyone before all of the Companies went back their separate ways - well done and thanks to everyone who turned up, as well as all the friends and parents who came to support the Battalion.
