Captain’s Corner

The 3rd continues to be involved in all manner of activities and since the last issue of

Simply Red we have been busier than ever!

Numbers continue to increase and the rate things are going we should once again be one of the largest

Companies in the Enfield Battalion.  Our Anchor Boys will soon have a waiting list for the first time in a

number of years.

Elsewhere in this issue you will find reports concerning the various competitions that the Boys have taken

part in so I won’t duplicate things here.  All I shall say is congratulations to all those who took part and thank

you to the staff that transported the lads to various parts of London.  Unfortunately for the Enfield Companies,

the majority of London District Competitions are held south of the river which means a long trek for us but its

all good fun and the Boys enjoy battling it out with Companies from other parts of the District.

On March 19th we held a Spring Fayre at Christ Church to help raise some funds for the Company and for

our friends in the Brownie, Guides and Rangers.  A most enjoyable day was had and I would like to thank

all those that helped either by donating items for sale or helping on the day.  Special thanks to Sue and John

Killey and Fanny Howard for organising refreshments and to Maureen for arranging the event.

We shall be holding another Fayre before the end of the year on a date to be confirmed.

The Company Section staff have also been busy looking at the Amicus project and recently met with the

Boys’ Brigade England and Wales secretary to discuss things further.  Once we have held a meeting with

the Guide and Rangers leaders and taken it to church meeting we shall be in a position to announce a start

date so watch this space!

On a personal level most of you will know that we have not had a good start to the year as Christopher has

been in and out of hospital. I would like to thank all of you who have been remembering us in your prayers

and ask that you continue to do so. We have been upheld by the love and concern shown to us and Natalie

and I are extremely grateful to all of you.

 Chris
