Christ Church U.R.C

Youth Organisations

Spring Fayre

The first fundraising event of the year was held on Saturday 19th March in the church hall.

Representatives from all three youth organisations and the church itself descended on the hall on Saturday Morning.

The idea was simple , each organisation had there own stalls and whatever money was raised from them was theirs to plough back into the respective group.

The Brownie stalls included tombola ,the Guides were providing the sweets .

The BB provided 2 stalls as well, a £1 stall where everything was (strangely enough £1!), and a book and tape stall and also a white elephant stall.

The doors opened at 11 am and after a slow start there was a decent crowd looking through the stalls, searching for the elusive bargain.

I would like to point out at this stage that the person responsible for putting the Editors portable TV up for sale

( which he had brought down to use on the forthcoming Company Section Games evening) and then selling it for £2 better go into hiding.

Aside from selling the editors possessions other highlights  included the café run ably by Mrs Killey and Mrs Howard respectively thank you ladies for the tea, coffee and rolls etc.

Contributions from the church included stalls run by Mary Smart and Mary Bysch who provided a Bric a Brac Stall.

All in all the Fayre was a success for all the organisations and the approximate total at the time of printing was £250 across the three organisations.
